Raytown is a suburb of Kansas City and, according to the 2010 population census, is home to approximately 29,526 people. The Raytown area was developed in the 19th and 20th centuries by American pioneers as they moved out west. In 1826, the land was added to the state of Missouri through a treaty at the cost of $800.
